I started up last Wednesday and my training has been looking like this.
Some background last season I was around 30mpw and hit 2:18 at a flat track season opener got sick for a month and only finished with a 5:04 but I learned a lot about racing during the season, so I'm ready to use that.
Here's the training I've been doing, any advice is welcome.
Every morning I run 3 miles at an easy pace, usually ends up being around 7:40-8:00 pace depending on how tired I am. Morning run pace isn't too important to me since it's a shakeout for my later run.
Later in the day I'll go and run for 4-5 miles at anywhere from 7:45-6:40 pace depending on what feels comfortable. I haven't put in tempos or fartlek yet but my running can get to a good aerobic level when I feel good but it's only around 6:3xs.
Sunday is long run day and I'll start around 7:40-30 and cut down to 6:40s. Any advice is welcome.
