Want - Rupp, Ward, Fauble
Think - 2 Kenyans, Rupp
Want - Rupp, Ward, Fauble
Think - 2 Kenyans, Rupp
Rupp- Because, if healthy, he is our only men's hope in Olympics
Ritz- Would like to see his career end on a high note
Walmsley- Just because it would be fun
Des- Not flashy, but steady and sticks to a game plan
Hall- I like that she's kind of old school and not afraid to race frequently
Sisson- What's not to like about her
I wasn’t sure where to share this vision but this thread seems good as any. I had a dream the other night that the top 3 were all African ex-pats. So by that logic, somewhere in my subconscious I really think this will be the team:
Korir
Abdi
Stanley Kebeni
1. Walmsley
2. Leblanc
3. Rupp
Men:
Rupp- only legit medal threat
Ward- likeable family man
Lagat- legend
Women:
Hasay- legit medal threat if healthy
Sisson- lots of potential
Seidel- an upset would be inspiring... and she's kinda cute

1. Bernard Lagat - Six Olympic teams would be incredible and he seems like a great guy.
2. JIM - Speaks for itself
3. Luke Puskedra - 4th place last time and has a great story.
1. Des - Hard not to love her
2. Steph Bruce - Bada** mom, great role model
3. Emily Sisson - Future of US marathoning
My favorite list so far. I'd swap Korir for Puskedra though.

Red Sox fan here. For years before the Sox won the WS in 2004, I would rave about the Sox to my co-workers and share my delusional predictions of WS championships. For some reason, my co-workers turned into Red Sox haters.
Walmsley is a talented runner and no doubt a good guy, but all the worship of him on LR has me rooting against him.
Aztec - just curious ... why are you a Red Sox fan?
Since you asked. In 1968, during the all-star game, Yastrzemski came to the plate and my dad said, "That guy is the best player in baseball". That got my attention, he looked pretty cool and I liked the uniform. Although he proceeded to strikeout, he became my favorite player and the Sox my favorite team, from that point on. And I only had to wait 36 years for them to win the WS.
Anyone but a past Salazar athlete.
1. Ward
2. Fauble
3. Biwott
1. Sisson
2. Hall
3. Kellyn Taylor
I love Desi but I believe she's not as hungry as the others, and Molly doesn't seem to respond to the marathon like she does the shorter distances.
1. Derrick - big talent, whip smart and entertaining, overcoming injuries and an unexpected stretch or irrelevance after being seen as one of the next big things
2. Bumbi - underrated competitor who as always been so close to that tippy top tier but never quite made it there
3. Walmsley - gotta cheer for the guy putting in work in the mountains year after year
Lagat - I think he's a nice guy and it would be cool to see someone make 6 Olympic Teams
Puskedra - Good story and it would be nice to see him make the team.
Walmsley - I would like to see the boards explode
Hasay - Probably our best female marathoner and I would like to see her back in shape again.
Sisson - No real reason, I think she just deserves to be on the team.
Hall - Never liked Ryan too much, I think Sara should be in the Olympics though.
what are the chances it's
lagat
abdi
ritz
???
