I took about a year off from running and started back up again. Used to run in Pegasus but my calves were killing me, so i got a pair of Hoka Clifton's and my calves feel great. Downside is the outside of my big toes are rubbing a lot and getting pretty raw at the end of runs. They are semi-calloused but still hurting after runs. I don't think they're too small (my toes aren't too big for the toe box), I think it is more rubbing on the sole of the shoe as my foot sinks into the cushion maybe? If that isn't exactly what is happening, I don't really care, i just want it to stop. Anyone have any alternative suggestions for good cushion to protect my calves but feels better in the toe box?
