Racing a marathon this spring in VaporFly Next%, but know the mileage life is pretty limited. What’s the best, more budget friendly, alternative to get feet used to long mileage in these shoes during training without breaking down race day shoes?

Peg turbos. Have same ZoomX foam but instead of a carbon fiber plate they combine ZoomX with React foam to stabilize. Lightweight but actually have an outsole so they’re much more durable.
Just buy another pair for training only. They are still solid shoes for 500 miles plus, but will loose thier pop after about 100 miles.
Your best bet would be the Zoom Fly (to get used to the plate sensation) or Pegasus Turbos (for the ZoomX foam). Personally, I wouldn't really worry about it. I ran 7 miles in the Next % before running a marathon and it was fine. The Vaporflys are so comfortable that it would be exceedingly rare to have issues running in them, "broken in" or not.
The correct answer is zoom fly (Flyknit or 3)
