You really don't think that the prehistoric people who lived alongside the dinosaurs were aware of their existence. Post George Washington might have been the first time modern people were aware of dinosaurs, but the fact that prehistoric people didn't keep records doesn't mean that they weren't aware that T-rexes were walking around.
