I agree with you. I actually am picking Sara as my 4th seed (Des, Sisson, and Hasay are my 1-3) but you make good points, and I think whether Sarah or Kipyego has a better chance is definitely debatable. I guess we will find out in 4 days!!!
Not sure what place, but I’ve got my money on Des qualifying. You know she’s LOVING the fact that it’s a hilly course. The worse the weather (hot or cold), the hillier the course, the better. Consistency, track record (she’s done this before at trials), and....made that insane move in NY and DIDNT blow up at the end? I’ll take proven over unproven any day.

Its crazy that so few of you have Des as a lock. Yeah she might not run a 2:22 right now BUT the hilly course suits her style of running so well and she is a consistency machine. I just do not see any scenario in which she is not able to stay with the lead group. A 2:20 runner like Hasay is not going to attempt this on that course.
Since leaving Hansons Des has not raced like her old consistent self.

Des almost got caught by Kellyn in NYC this year and nobody thinks Kellyn has a chance.
Des is a shadow of the 2011-2016 Des. Just watch.
I'm just gonna throw this out there.
Hasay will make the Olympic team. She might dial it back for 2nd or 3rd place just to be conservative, but IMHO the race is hers to lose. I'm more of a fan of Huddle and will be rooting for her and Aliphine the most, but Hasay is still the best of this elite field.

My concern with Des isn't actually her age or recent form, but whether in the back of her mind she will be thinking that the Olympics are going to be postponed and Boston is right around the corner so she packs it in.
