Between the insta post and lets run interview she knows she is done. She has had more advantages and privileges than anyone I can think of in U.S. history yet produced zero Olympic berths. Surely, beyond Nike decision makers reviewing her contract, even dad knows it wasnt meant to be.

She's no Joanie, nor Deena. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

She obviously wasn't fit due to the hamstring tear recovery. But when you are a sponsored pro, that doesn't matter.
I guess this is why I have a love/hate thing with watching elite marathon running. It's hard to be a fan of Jordan when she is paid to show up to two marathons per year, and is barely doing that.
She said she needed more time to prepare.. more time!? She gets paid, presumably enough, to train, then sit in bed all day and recover. I understand injuries take a long time to heal, but geez, it's ridiculous. No wonder running doesn't pay very much. What return are they getting if the athlete shows up once a year?
This is such an unintelligent, weird post.
What elite runner shows up to more than two marathons a year? This is the standard. Maybe a half or 10 miler as a tune up, but that’s that.
The part about the injury makes no sense. What other option does she have? She was injured, did her best to prepare, but there wasn’t enough time. Yet, she still ran and finished unlike many other pros.
At the end of the day, when healthy, she’s the best female marathoner we currently have. She’s also a fan favorite.
Again, weird post...

Happy about the women’s side of this team. Don’t care that Jordan isn’t on the team. She called a banned coach a father figure. Pffffft
^This. Her NOP history is despicable. Glad her presence won't embarrass us in Tokyo.

You are aware that Bill Rodgers had a similar meltdown at the '76 Olympics and came back to win New York with a course record? Furthermore, won Sado Island on a 200 meter shorter course on 2:08:23 (should translate into what? low 2:09's)
You illiterates in the sport think these athletes are supposed to be super human? Invincible?
Fixed it.
The question now becomes, if you could avoid testing positive for performance enhancing drugs could you intentionally test positive for COVID-19, save the brand name image and retroactively blame poor performance on the virus?
6. Retroactive blameshift to COVID-19
If Hasay tested positive for COVID-19, it would be no wonder that our favorite little lioness and American dream-ster didnt perform better! She will be back for 2024 no doubt and will je commended for an admirable level of modesty she displayed despite being COVID-19 positive.
So weird this thread was right. Check out her insta stories now. She is reshaping her game
Did she end up testing positive for coronavirus?
By the way this thread ought to be letsrun famous for just out and calling it like it is. I agree the tone is brash but its like the OP looked into the future first.
The OP didn't nail it at all. She ran to contend and it wasn't her day or probably build-up. LRP has no idea what's he's talking about when it comes to Hasay. She's a complete pro and her work ethic is unmatched, which is why she is #2 in American history and why he can't even run a 15:30 5K at his fat@ss shape.

Wow! calm down bro (or sister), you are unnecessarily increasing your cortisol levels and wasting energy over 2 perfect strangers (the OP and Jordan, unless you are her?)

OP is a moran. Jordan is awesome and she'll come back stronger than ever
She is searching for a new sponsor. Will go without a sponsor until July 1st so that Nike can’t match. Probably sign with ON who will have half of the top 20 in the 2024 marathon trials.

Everybody can still get a popsicle if:
1. She falls back before twenty miles then follows instructions to drop out. Place blame on injury then simultaneously make an early commit to a "Big Next Race" in Chicago.
2. Settle for "Oh So Close" 4th or 5th to save brand name image and shed those lion tears in nike gear on camera. This act will guarantee another 4-year sponsored journey with the best coaches in the world.
3. DNS day before, blame it on previous injury. Announce new Nike look alike internet brand strategy right after trials.
Discus!
its painfully obvious...al sal had her on some sauce, she is off the sauce and SUCKS, then does the phantom injury excuse to explain the sudden lack of ability.
does she train in oregon?

lolz wouldnt it be classic if her, goucher and dez all ran for the same sponsor hahaha
give it a yr or so and you will see that jordan will open up about the abuse she suffered under al sal and although she ran "clean" it was so hard...and her and kara will become bff's
The OP was spot on. She didnt qualify. She is scrambling to continue. Has been overrated a while now. She also has to reform her branding strategy. Did you miss that part?

What if the OP ran faster than 15:30 multiple times? I mean, as you suggest, 15:30 isnt that fast. Perhaps the OP could run two consecutive 15:30s at his or her prime? You never know.

What? She was third at Boston last year. She suffered an injury and lost her coach last fall. She is 2nd American all-time, and she did it after her Mom died. She is resilient, works hard, and does it with a smile on her face. She has always been a straight shooter in interviews.
Useless
