Go easy on me please, however I'm very open to criticism in this thread and will genuinely take it on board.
I'm not a 15 min 5k-er like the other guy but hope some people may find me tolerable despite hobbyjogger status. Next vid up Weds.

Good luck with that.
To be fair, they were nice to the other guy who posted last week
Honestly, I find 17 minutes way too long. I don’t know how people sit through videos of that length. Less than 10 is the magic number for me and even then I’m playing it as fast as I can still comprehend it (at least1.5x ideally)
Good luck!

That's fair and most videos will definitely be under 10 mins. I guess for the particularly video I linked, it was meant as a 'stock' video if someone finds my channel a few months down the line , or if someone searches for "how to BQ" as a specific topic and so is willing to watch a long vid. Also, my friend who's quite big on running YT (~50k subs) is generally around the 11-16 min mark and has done well from it.
Would be interested in hearing how others feel bearing the above and your comment in mind.
My next one will be 6-7 mins ish.

p.s. - thanks!
You are cute, so expect a lot of attention.
Lol, I'm older than I look but am keeping my strava hidden in case a weirdo comes across my vids
Video way too long. Need more running footage/other visuals than just sitting in front of a camera.
Fair - recorded a lot of running footage over the last week so will focus a lot more on that

She is not cute.
Made it through almost 14min. Might be better to share the video on less knowledgeable running boards, there are probably people who would benefit from it but I don’t think letsrun is the target audience.
As an aside, 50mpw is not high mileage, and recovery runs shouldn’t be referred to as workouts (of which there are more than 4 types of)
my 2c best of luck

You look mid to late 30s

You’re right, this isn’t the target market. I knew letsrun would have something to say about me saying 50 miles is high mileage haha, but I guess I’m aiming my channel more at beginner/intermediate runners, the type I would come across in the average social running group where I live. But at the same time, 50 miles is high compared to what I needed to get to BQ the first time (27mpw - I BQed at my first marathon too but didn’t enter that year).
Thanks for watching and the feedback and luck!

I would guess that the above target audience would toon in. As you mentioned in your video, getting a BQ off of that low mileage is pretty impressive, suggesting some innate talent. If I were coaching someone to BQ I think I would have them sustain 60mpw at a minimum to hit decent (bq) time goals, assuming no extensive cross training.

Yes, I agree she is cute. (Please don't call us misogynist! It's a compliment)
For the video, that microphone is really bad. The sound is well and echos. You really need a large microphone that picks up sound in one direction and where you can put closer to your face with a stand. This will give you the full body sound that you hear on larger channels. It is the single most important piece of equipment other than a camera.
You should also learn how to adjust white balance on the camera or in post. You should also get some led lights and diffusion panels to soften the light in your room and to fill in the shadows. This is what makes videos look pro vs looking like you took it with a cell phone.
I’m astonished there is an actual female posting on here so good job for that; you must have a thick skin. Which is just as well since you’ve stuck your neck out.
I think your video is fine on the whole and you come across as keen and fairly knowledgeable. Here are a few possible suggestions meant with the best intentions.
Your video seems very 2005 with its format. I would definitely try and get some kind of music into this to jazz it up. You don’t need to go all Sage Canaday and play it yourself but just something to breathe life into it will help.
I would also change that blue interlude slide as it feels too formal like it’s a work presentation or something the Government would use.
Definitely cut the time down to under 10 mins as most people these days don’t have the focus beyond that.
Best of luck with it and keep enjoying your running ?
For a first video 17 minutes is fine. It established what you intend to do. If you have a longer segment, because there is a lot to tell, organize it so you can break it into shorter segments. Name them part 1 and part 2, or better, give them there own title with focus on something in the content.
Thanks - a compliment is always nice.
Yeah - I’m definitely at the early stages and still learning/gathering equipment. Just got a bonus with work so I may well use that for some good equipment. Is the sound in the ‘London Running Routes’ any better?
I’ll focus on more vlogging-style videos until I get a better camera, as it’s a GoPro so it’s better for that. Lots of learning to do in the meantime but appreciate you taking the time to write your advice!

I’ve been reading/posting on LR for a while on a different username so I’m quite desensitised to it. I knew I’d get honest feedback too.
Good tip on the music. My musician friend has given me free range on his whole so I’ll use it from here on out. I used it in my previous video but should have spent more time on jazzing this one up.
Consider the blue slides gone! I had them ready for my next video but you’re right, and they’re lazy.
Thanks ?
