This man could jump 6.30
Imagine the contract bonus for two world records ??
What about the elephant in the room? He is a plastic Swede.
He is as Swedish as meatballs!
Correct me if I'm wrong, pole vault people, but it looks like he had tons of clearance. He could go way higher, right?
I don't get why he's competing for Sweden, though. He doesn't even speak the language.
Editor's note. Here is clip of him speaking some Swedish:

even determined. i hope he will improve the record cm by cm just to collect the bonuses. the athletes are comparatively underpaid anyway. he has a sensational technique.
the best would be gold and a world record in tokyo.
Pole vault is much worse than swimming when it comes to accessibility.
Very small population of people even have access to the equipment.
Being a great pole vaulter is like being a decent runner.

Not even close to being true. Anyone who goes out for even a moderately sized track team has the opportunity to try the pole vault. But most people without any aptitude for pole vault are weeded out before they even try it. If you’re not comfortable with the idea of being upside down 15 or more feet in the air, you’re not going to try it, and you wouldn’t be good at it anyway.

Are you sure about that? His mother is Swedish. He's spent a lot of time there.
I don't think so. He'll be a good draw for sure, but Bolt was bigger for several reasons. Bubka, in his prime, was not at the Bolt level.

His mother is a Swede. He spent every summer and vacations not in school here.
Tactical. From Sweden he's an automatic to make World/Olympic teams.
Trying it and having adequate equipment are 2 different things. It is far and away the most expensive event and high schools on tight budgets often have to pick between a new pole, uniforms, hurdles, timing equipment, etc. There are thousands of schools across the country that don't have a pit for this reason and it's not just small schools.
Our district is pretty good about sharing poles between 8 high schools but there are lots out there that don't share for various reasons.

What?!?! Hahsha no a pole vaulter is not the new Bolt. That's gotta be a joke right. For one thing his popularity is hurt because he's not representing his home country. He'd get a lot more pub if he was. Secondly a vaulter isn't anywhere near the fastest man in the world ever. Dominating everything. He hasn't even won anything yet. But your standards the Frenchman who had the record should of been the next Bolt.
Let him win SOMETHING first. Still don't think he beats Kendricks or even Nelson for that matter.
Shocked there isn't any steroids comments on here yet lol. In that way he did himself a favor not vaulting for the us.
I do love that he's breaking records tho. Awesome.
He is probably more American than Swede, but who really cares. It's his life. I am a fan either way. We are definitely watching the GOAT of PV and it's awesome!
