So for example - lets say runner A has a goal of a 3hr marathon and is running 50 mpw. He's able to the proper marathon pace of 6:51 min/mile and threshold of 6:20 min/mile in training.
Runner B has the same goal but he's running 80-90mpw and because his legs aren't as fresh, his M-pace "in training" is about 7:20 min/mile and his threshold is 6:45 min/mile.
Lets assume that in both cases the runners are running at the same %VO2max for their efforts and so the same physiological adaptations are taking place
But obviously the taper will have a different effect for both these runners.
Is this a good way of looking at the effect of high mileage on training paces?
