The Reality is Michael Jordan does not have the Athletic ability to both hit a baseball or play Golf at an elite level . He did what most ex-athletes do, try to be good at golf . He told Golf magazine he didn't realize the physical punishment hour of practice takes , and the relentless nature of the Sport . Said he was use to taking 3 months off, when playing B-Ball , now he is resigned to being a recreational Golfer.
Michael Jordan - Most Delusional Statement Ever " When I turn 50 I'll Play against the Best on Champions Tour"

Who cares?

Far from the most delusional thing anyone has ever said. Kids are stupid. I still thought I would run in the Olympics someday when I was in my 20s despite not having broken 4 in the 1500.
Still, wish he could have taken up track instead of golf, his potential was enormous.

Not as delusional as Gwen Jorgensen thinking she had a shot at a gold medal in the marathon.

Not sure what your point really is with this post, but the guy is a good golfer. This video is from about 1990. Conventional wisdom says has game likely improved since then...

It was Jordan talking too Golf Channel last week. He said at age 35, he could physically do 40% of the Tiger Woods , 9 hour practice Day. If I post a video of me floating in a 3 point shot , I doubt people would say "that's just like Steph C " .

He's still better than lebron.
-
Typically illogical, brainwashed, nonsensical basketball player. I'm sure he talked down on golfers big time. Hehe, big talker got humbled quickly didn't he?
Although the most humbling experiences I've seen was when big talking road/track runners attempted a trail race thinking they'll whup everyone with ease. The last time there was a 31 minute 10k guy that collapsed by the side of trail, barfing barely 10 minutes into it after the initial steep climb. -

Pretty sure Lebron doesn't play much golf so I would agree with you. -

Most Delusional Statement Ever
Most delusional statement ever? Dude, there are crazies out there who believe that Darth Vader is stealing their thoughts using a chip that was implanted into their brain while they slept and stuff like that. Jordan's statement might be a little far fetched, but the claim that it is the most delusional statement ever is dumb. -
When did he say this?
"When I turn 50..."
He's 58 or so now. -
So my son, who was running steeple in DIII (third-best on his team), comes home the summer of his junior year and jumps into a Spartan race. Three minutes after he finished, the next guy came in. The regional series leader.
-
Is it more delusional than trump saying that he is a very stable genius?
Baseball ain't a sport and golf ain't a sport. You can be extremely obese and old in both those games while also being at a Hall of Fame level. No athleticism required in either, least ways no more than in darts, bowling, nascar, tiddlywinks, chess, video games. -
Are any of these claims delusional?
“I know more about drones than anybody””
“I know more about ISIS than the generals do”
“I know more about courts than any human being on earth”
“Nobody knows about trade than me”
“I know more about renewable energy than any human being on earth”
“I think nobody knows more about taxes than I do, maybe in the history of the world”
“I understand money better than anybody”
“As a builder, nobody in the history of this country has ever known so much about infrastructure as Donald Trump”
“Nobody knows more about construction than I do”
“Nobody knows more about technology than me”
“I think I know about it (the economy) better than the Federal Reserve”
“I know more about Cory (Booker) than he knows about himself”
And people made fun of Al Gore because he said he invented the internet. -
Jordan did FAR better at professional baseball than almost anyone on this forum could do. I was impressed by it in hindsight, to be honest.
Dude in his 30's goes from not playing since he was like 12 to a level away from the pros within a year. In a sport that is one of the most skill-based in the world.
He hit .254 in the Arizona fall league. That takes real skill. Anyone who can hit .254 in the Arizona Fall League their first year of playing the game outside of little league has real talent. Average person would hit .000
that's like a 30 year old going from hobby jogger to NCAA qualifier in a year.
would you be making fun of a runner who did that? Remember NCAA ain't the pros.
realistically he probably would have got a shot as 4th outfielder in MLB had he started a couple years earlier. Who here on this forum can say that? -
so MJ was about the 2000th best baseball player in the US, which is about 4000th in the world. I'm better in a real sport than MJ was in baseball, which is not a sport but merely a game. What would MJ rank in golf, also not a sport? 20,000th? He probably is still in the top 2000 at basketball, which is a real sport, even at his ancient age.
-
I don't care what MJ says, an hour of golf practice is not physically punishing in the least. Maybe he's talking about the walking around part? It's true an athlete from a sprint type sport would get tired from an hour of walking. But wasn't he on his feet for a solid hour in NBA games?

Yes it does, Hitting a Driver for an hour , is a lot of time , even for a PGA Pro. He said He could only manage 40% of Tiger's typical Day . Runner's by the way are not good athletes in general. They are weak, most have poor coordination , poor agility and physically tiny .Most men in the Olympic Marathon trials could buy T-shirts at Kids Gap stores. Golf Practice you are not walking , you are practicing. -
