As a local runner, the weather was absolutely perfect this morning. Mid 40s and no wind which made for a fast day. The half does overtake the 10K and there was a ton of weaving in and out the last 4-5 miles. That had to of affected them a little bit.
Isn’t this race normally pretty good conditions?
Yeah but today seemed even more perfect.
It will be interesting if Galen goes back to Salazar after the ban is done.
I hope he forges his own path. He has the tools and I hope he can do it by himself (with assistance from mike smith)
Mesa Marathon? Gimme a break! It's sad that the guy is dead, but that doesn't change the fact that he was a CHEATER. They really couldn't think of a better person to name a race after? The dude is no martyr.

sorry i do work on a drilling rig in north dakota but i'm on break now...so it sounds like from what you're saying that LetsRun thinks there's a problem with these shoes when there really isn't
Huh? For someone that has been out-of-the-loop away on a drilling rig, you sure came up with a lot of speculation as to purposes of wanting to know what shoes he was wearing, along with your coming to a conclusion "there really isn't (a problem)". Maybe letsrun is just genuinely curious, without drawing any conclusion one way or another as to whether they think there is a problem.
How dumb are you guys? This guy is obviously lying to troll you. Everybody knows about these shoes.

I assume you’re trolling, but just Incase you’re not, his name was Meza.

I'll add that i was standing there at mile 13ish and he went by, looked totally relaxed. Just a subjective thing, could mean nothing.
Weather was perfect..low 40s at finish time I'd guess. No wind. The lead motorcycle cleared a huge lane for the leaders, so there wasnt much slowing due to the 10k runners.
I have a million pictures and videos, but don't know how to upload them here. All three leaders looked amazing.. man they were running fast.
Lastly. It shows the female half winner at 67:27, which is just outside of the american record, right?
So, he finished in 61:18, putting 40+ seconds on Llano and 60+ seconds on Chelanga in the last 10k.
28:49 for his last 10k, if I counted correctly.
2:01:24 / 60:42 pace.
Good enough. Faster than any American at Houston. Llano finished 20 seconds behind the top American there.
He should win the trials easily.

why?
Because the shoe technology has been sensationalized over the past several months.
Actually, shoe technology has been sensationalized since someone destroyed his wife's waffle iron after leaving it on the bottom of his sneakers to dry them out.
Don't call it a comeback
He’s been here for years
He’s rocking his peers
Puttin' suckers in fear
Makin' the tears rain down like a monsoon
Listen to the bass go boom
Saw people saying it drops 350 ft. but the net drop appears to be 150 ft. Downhill but not as bad as people might be thinking. The biggest drop seems to be in the final mile too. As others have said, Matt & Sam ran a touch faster at Houston but I would assume all three today are less tapered than they would have been for a race 3 weeks ago. Rupp can go through halfway in a major in 1:02-1:03. 1:01 is solid for him & makes you think he's still the favorite in 3 weeks. We shall see.

It is a comeback if he’s been out due to injury (as he has been) for quite sometime since the Chicago run went south. So, yes, it is a comeback run. BTW it is a comeback with a new coach, the whole 9 yards.
Very happy to see this result from Rupp. However, the hilly Atlanta course is a completely different beast. Hopefully Rupp is as ready for the hills as he was the speedway today.
