Guess he needs to update his watch
I seriously doubt I could keep pace with a 3:56 mile on that downhill when in 4:39 shape. It shows how talent and muscle memory contribute.
I bet I could coast at best 4:05-10 in similar mile fitness.
I wonder what this does to your legs, not to mention your back.

Interesting. GPS data automatically captures the date and time. You can change it but would have to do that manually. I think someone else ran this on 11-28, possibly his buddy Will Leer. That’s just shortly after they were running together for the video where he tried to run Kipchoge’s marathon pace. He just came back and videoed himself running the same course. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but it’s all very suspicious.

How dare you talk about Nick's weight.

It says on the splits data 5'10" 176. I heard him say on a video he was 30 lbs above his weight from his PR, which I think was closer to 160. So, either he is heavier than the reading, has lost 15lbs during all the training videos or raced close to 150, which seems wrong.
4:40 mile(1600m) is out of shape? I wish I could run that for my PR!

Yeah he's doing decent. Looks like all of the races for 100 dollars are keeping him in decent shape.
Just now needs to go heavier in the gym to maintain enough muscle mass to get back to the times he was running in his upper 20s. The only way to do it now is through weights.
We will see if he realizes this or not and starts to get into the gym and lifting heavy.
I wonder why he didn't run it on the track?

Matt, you sure do hit the heavy weights a lot... How is your mile shape right now?
video shoes how joke of a sport road running is now these days, vaporflys and down hill half and full marathons.
this was 250 drop for 1 mile, revel joke marathon race series had 300+ foot drops in a few miles for its races
He did more to trash the sport than anyone and somehow feels it makes him more powerful. He doesn't have one tenth the personality that Nick has in his little finger.

Don't tell that to David "BigWave" Torrence.
Legendary thread, legendary guy.
I have some suspicions w this video. There are many subtle cuts in the running while the clock continues to run. Also, he continues to kick even after the distance counter on the screen says 1 mile, suggesting that he was still trying to reach the actual mile mark.

Of course you can't. This time we get the continuous shot I've been asking for, but obviously there are no markings that would indicate the distance and that was much more than a 250 foot net drop. When he is on a track, where distance would be obvious, we don't get the continuous shot, we get a whole bunch of edits every time he gets to the 100, 200, and 300, markings. Nothing he does is transparent; that's not a great look for the CEO of a company.
As I said before, he's P. T. Barnum revisited.
Stop it. he is at least making track and field interesting. You guys looking for ways to shoot him down when we need more PT Barnums.
You'd have thought you'd have learned your lesson seeing the interest Usain Bolt brought to the sport.
And please, what a stupid comment about CEOs. I bet any CEO in the world would love to be fit enough and capable enough to do what he does.
For Strava to track a mile you always have to go over by a tiny bit.. like .01 .02 or it cuts off..

Kellogg said every 10 yards net downhill was 1.8 seconds per mile. Using this data, his 355 was equivalent to around a 440 mile.
Nick Symmonds is a sideshow. Watch my kooky vids. Buy my rungum.
