It's hilarious how you seized on the part of what I said that was clearly a prediction and ignored the parts that were clearly fact. Let me give it to you again with the latest numbers. I deserve it though for introducing my own personal bias into what should be a data driven conversation.
780 dead in Hubei Mainland China and 1440 recovered. Yeah, if you look at that it looks scary as hell. We still however don't know how many are actually infected and not dead and not counted in being recovered because they never sought assistance.
33 dead and 1288 recovered outside of Hubei Mainland China, Either there is a problem with what's happening specifically with the care inside the affected area, or the virus is racist af! Only 33 dead outside Hubei and China has nothing to do with the reporting of that number for you conspiracy theorists. 1288 is only the number of recovered outside Hubei that sought medical assistance, the actual number of recovered in a population size of several billion is unknown.
You are correct but you are not applying common sense. Of those 37,554 confirmed, 37,198 are within Hubei. So far, we know the outcome of 2220 of those. (780 dead, 1440 recovered) That gives us a projection of 13,070 deaths and 24,128 recovered if the trend were to remain. However, outside of Hubei, the sample size is too small to make any sort of prediction since the population of the world outside of hubei is "quite large". The 33 deaths is statistically insignificant as compared to what is happening inside the affected area. We do know that outside of Hubei , during the same time period, literally 100 times (100X) more people have died of the flu and China didn't fudge those numbers.
