Agree about the quality of the meet if it had gone ahead. I don't think any of the fields would have been of high quality, it makes more sense to hold this meet after the Olympics, never a few months before.

Is there much of a point to World Indoors, other than the semi-pros who get a chance to make Team USA since the top-pros don't really contest the indoor season (since there isn't really much money in it)?
Give the second tier athletes a legit chance at making a national team. Also potential national team experience for an up and comer.

You mean like the awful World Indoors in 2016 at Portland? That one really suffered from being before the Olympics.

Same in 2012. 2014 and 2018 (outdoor off years) were much stronger. It would be much better if World Half and World Indoors were on odd years and World XC on even years.

I guess I failed at sarcasm.

Greg, canadians doing illegal things in China should deal with the China law. Unless they have been wrongfully charged, this is not an important matter.
In the early 2000s the Mad Cow disease outbreak forced Dublin to postpone the world cross country championships. It was held in Oostende, Belgium instead. The following year it was held in Dublin. Logistically it's easy to move a 2 day XC meet but impossible to move a week long track and field meet especially with 6 weeks notice.

Only the guy (not pictured) did something illegal. I do not support drug smuggling in any way. He must be sent back to Canada and imprisoned in Canada. China has no leadership.
