I’m in shock. I did not want to believe it when I first saw it. I am going to need a couple days to process this. RIP.

Actually, it wasn't 5 years. Not even close. It was 2 months. A commercial plane crashed in NYC in November 2001, killing all on board.
Well my bad - I had read about no commercial airliners going down for 5 years after the 9/11 disaster.

It may be more a case of pilot error in small planes by inexperienced pilots compared to commercial pilots.
There were actually 9 people killed, including Chistina Mauser, the girls basketball coach, another player on the team who played with his daughter, and her parents.
One of the girls in this picture along with Kobe's daughter died.

She was Number 5 in the picture. (the other girl who died along with Kobe's daughter)

Unless I think his family is looking at this site to see fan tributes, I'm not going to steer clear of honesty. The JohnBros want a venue for honesty and free expression then there can't be anything off-limits so long as its done responsibly. (I'm not implying I necessarily consider DS a responsible source.) KBB was an all-time great player, with great ability, and definitely HOF-worthy yet he doesn't belong in the GOAT conversation with Jordan, Lebron, Russell, etc. He was a strong player yet ultimately had fatal flaws psychologically within the team game. In short, he wasn't able to elevate others consistently, his rings came from riding in the copilot's seat. He was a Pippen who was better at creating his own shot. Jordan also got frustrated with young, willful teammates who weren't on his level, either. Yet he never froze-out the rest of the team to dominate possession time like KBB did the final few seasons of his career. It took on the strong appearance that if it wasn't a team built to make a strong playoff run then KBB was going to use games to pad his stat lines and achieve Lakers/Nike contractual bonuses for himself rather than put the team in the best position to win both in the present and after his time. The way he essentially pushed down teammates - and granted, post-Shaq few other talented vets would consider an offer from the Lakers so it was a limited talent pool of his own making - didn't help the Lakers at all in the years immediately following his retirement. Lakers management also made poor decisions that probably contributed even more to that rut. He even managed to help run off Phil Jackson and they couldn't get a coach of that quality again in his time. He patterned himself after Jordan and in many ways appeared the spitting image of Jordan in play on the court, yet he lacked some of Jordan's significant intangibles.
Funny, that’s not how his teammates felt about playing with him. But I’m sure you know better.
Re: BOHICA
He did win two titles post Shaq with a roster that wasn't extremely loaded.
But you know how they truly feel? Child, please.

That's also my recollection, though it wasn't exactly the assortment of talent that Lebron took to the Finals in Cleveland early in his career, pre-Miami. Subsequently, the Lakers roster continued to spiral downward.
I know they are a more reliable source than you are.
In addition to the rape case in CO, I'm never able to not think of Karl Malone trying to slide into his wife Vanessa's DMs when I think of Kobe:

Yes of course, little one, and they're always fully honest with the media.
Your attempt at smugness is of no help to your failing argument.
