A few observations:
1) Alysia Montano makes Craig Masback look competent. In the women's 2 mile, she just dropped, "El-lie is about that speed" and Emma Coburn is about to "throw down." She's a disaster.
2) Katie Mackey is no longer with the Beasts? That's awkward.
3) It seems like poor form that McLaughlin isn't racing. I understand being cautious, but it isn't good for the sport when top athletes are pulling out the day of the meet.
Then don't say it. Montano serviceable in her debut. "Awkward"?, how so. And no, you don't understand being cautious.

Garcia’s form is so painful to watch. Such a hitch in her giddy up.

I understand why a distance guy isn't watching.
It's called Athletics.
Distance barely registers in that domain within the US.
Maybe trail running us for you.
....Of course, I've heard that the US isn't the best at that either.
What is a US distance guy to watch?
Ehh 2019 wc 800m, Rio 1500m, Rio marathon we had a bronze medal just to list a few, what shitty European country that gets crapped on by the US are u from?
Merika' dude.
I live track and field.
The US is consistently the best at it.
Thanks for pointing out our amazing MID D athletes.
....Also, for pointing out our 3rd place, best distance guy we've had in a while, but not quite distance world champion at any distance event.
Like I mentioned before, it's called athletics.
Distance guys might get bored today.
M 1000 meters up next. Torrence still with the record. Hoppel & Wightman. 1:22 600. Ordonez to the front but Wightman takes it back. Hoppel closes hard to take it. 2:17:43 Fast!
Hoppell knows how to race
Blow-low sucks. Have never liked her. Wish Nelvis was here.
IIRC, as part of Danny Mackey's whistleblower testimony for the Al Sal/NOP doping case, he mentioned the stress induced by the ordeal (paraphrasing) "caused his marriage to break up". Katie Mackey leaving the Brooks seems to support that.
Montano is doing a very good job. She anticipated the finish of two or three races correctly when the eventual winner was not leading. She knew that the key thing for Ches was getting a qualifying time. I'm not sure what this guy who called her a "disaster" is talking about. I will say that for whatever reason, her audio is quieter than Ato's and whoever the other guy is . Not sure why they'd do that.
Oakley is "out in the dark." Truly brilliant.
There's that. In general, I always thought their coach-athlete relationship was incredibly strained.
And, per her, Nick Willis just didn't take advantage of that slingshot. If only he'd have sling-shotted! I'm sure he wasn't running as hard as he could.
Donovan Brazier just chillin in the 600. Was he racing high schoolers??
I'm sure her sponsor is excited to see this IG post by SM. What was the reason for not competing?
In her interview, her coach said something didn't look right.
Pretty sure no one wants to get injured in a 500m vanity race.
Garcia looks like she is thinking about her stride during the entire race but seems to forget about every 4th stride and sort of hops. It looks like either one leg is longer than the other or one foot touches the track differently than the other.

Beg to disagree. I had to mute the commentary, I found it so annoying.

That hitch would seem to have an easy remedy but she's had it for a couple of years now.
I hope she's able to resolve it soon.

She made a move toward the front of the field and threw a huge arm bar at someone; it might have been Purrier. Soon after she faded from the hunt. It looks like there is a lot going on there that doesn’t have anything to do with getting to the line first.
