I'm not even going to waste time reading it. But if he ran it, then ran it again a few days later or a week later he's going to be in better shape already and know what to expect. He will improve rapidly after just days of starting to run. And also, if he ran the first one in trainers that are roughly 10-11 ounces and then puts on the 4% which are a racing shoe at 6.9 ounces, you're going to run slightly faster just because the shoe is much lighter.
From my personal experience I run about 10 seconds per mile faster (I'm talking about when I'm running hard around a 5 minute mile effort) in 4% than Nike pegasus. When I wear other racing flats like zoom streaks I also run about 10 seconds per mile faster than the Nike Pegasus, the streaks and 4% are both significantly lighter than the pegasus and that's why they are both faster.
