I'm a college runner for a really solid team with great academics. Running and school are my priorities and I try to optimize them both. I find that if I get less than 9.5 hours of sleep, I feel like I could've slept more. Even when I go to bed to get 10 hours of sleep, I still wake up to the alarm, not naturally before the alarm goes off.
I'm looking for ways I may be able to get a little less sleep, but still do well in school and running. If I could sleep a little less I could devote myself to some tangential academic pursuits I've wanted to go after.
Also - do you ever get over the need for increased sleep when you increase mileage? This is my first time consistently doing 60 miles a week, and it feels like I need to sleep 9.5-10+ hours a night. Many of my teammates, even those that run a lot, claim to sleep around 8 hours a night.
