KC is going to score some points and has a good defense. SF won't be able to run the ball and count on the defense shutting them down. There will be 3rd and longs where Garappolo is going to have to throw the ball.
Saying SF wont be able to run the ball vs the Chiefs porous run D gives your opinion zero credibility. And I know they limited the damage vs Henry. But they did just enough. He had 60 yards in the first half then was abandoned. That just enough performance vs Tenny will be useless vs the 49ers. Why do you think the Patriots ran the ball 40 times vs KC in last years AF C title game? There's a clear reason.
The big difference is that KC has a great offense. The Niners can't depend on their defense shutting them out. There's going to be a point where the Niners need to score to stay in the game and it's going to require some throwing on 3rd down. There is no way to beat the Chiefs with throwing the ball only 8 times. Super Bowl wins almost always include a good performance by the QB.
