I am a senior trying to break 10 minutes for the 3200. My prs from xc are 17: 36 4:49 in the mile and 10:34 in the 2 mile from last year. After xc season ended I started at 35 mpw and built up to 60 in about 4 weeks. I held 60 for 4 weeks. But then I got the flu and I ran 35 with only 4 days of running. Then i took a whole week and 10 days off and didnt run. The previous i ran 40 mostly at a easy pace wit strides. I have time trialed a 4: 48 in windy conditions and a 10: 39 8 days before my race and didnt try as hard cause it was districts. I havent been doing any hard workouts yet but I do 200s at 32 to 34 wit about 4 minutes rest. Just to work on turnover. I also did 8 400s wit a minute rest 2 months ago starting at 75 cutting down to 73. My legs did feel weak but my breathing did not. Ever since i also started weighr lifting to get my whole body stronger. Is sub 10 possible. And is it ok if I run before practice starts. Maybe like 5 miles to 7 miles. My coach has us do no mileage just hard workputs every day.
