Hey all
For years it seems they always list PT as one of the hottest professions.
I’ve done some volunteer hours and plan on applying for a DPT program.
However I have some concerns.
Most of the PTs I shadow gripe about how little they make and always say
“ don’t go into PT for the money”
I realize it’s a noble profession to serve others, but seriously, living in California, making money is a priority.
Plus DPT programs are not cheap. For you PTs, I want to ask:
1. Can you be the primary breadwinner as a PT? Let’s not ask the part time women who I know “love their patients” but in reality are supported by their hedge fund mgr husbands.
2. Can I hit six figures without being a clinic owner? I want balance and don’t want work to be my whole life.
3. Starting salary? For some reason it’s taboo to talk salary to other PTs and they never disclose.
Thank you kindly.
