Not a man women thing , it is on the media who feel obligated to place someone unqualified to speak at an event that they are not familiar with , just to get the gender approved quota in.

Women plural? Or woman singular?
Either way, who gives a f*ck?
What are your favorite tennis shoes for running in?
why do you single out "woman sports reporter" and then immediately say it's not a man/woman thing? why not just "sports reporter"?
we know what you're doing here fella
I heard that and she asked a dumb question during the race about uniforms being based on countries? So she' doesn't know anything about running. But she seemed smarter to me in a general sense than the expert when they were talking about Vaporflys. The running expert said they were going to be banned, that the carbon plate was like Oscar P's blade and gave propulsion and energy. That the price of $250-$400 made them prohibitively expensive and unavailable to all runners.
She said, "Isn't the cat already out of the bag though?" And she asked Meb wouldn't Skechers or any other company just use the same tech to make their own models? And the other general TV announcer said $90-$120 is expensive for some people too.
Running expert did not mention Nike said they would make shoes available to all elites. The dilemma is the question of sponsorship.

You as well as I know that all the feminist runners will still blame LRC and men for that woman.
Probably best to stick with cooking and crafts and stuff like that.

What’s wrong with you today. You left out making babies, changing diapers, and raising rug rats.
All important things. What is more important than raising children?
Not bringing children to restaurants, movies, bars or on airplanes?
I am assuming being in houston she could have mexican relatives, where in mexico they do call running shoes 'tennis' while zapatos a non athletic shoe

Look at me, look at me, I’m a victim.
Grow a set.
Great. Here sneakers, trainers and tennis shoes are synonyms. Running shoes are joggers. People talk so much about sneakers and trainers that maybe she thought that it was about tennis?

Rug rats .... I like the term 'tricycle motors' better. It's more dismissive but rug rats ain't bad either.
Sounds like the kind on Einstein who should be on the NBC Chicago Marathon broadcasting team.

Yes. "Tennies" was an all inclusive term. Were tennis shoes the original shoe for active sport? I don't think we need to lynch anybody just yet... I need to go rake leaves.

I don't need to go to a "women's" running retreat to hug a bunch of strangers , and I'm not empowered by fat women wearing the same race kits as me . what's your point ?
The marathon coverage here in Houston is just the local ABC news affiliate, a mix of morning and evening studio anchors. It’s not even the sports reporters so her knowledge is very limited. But agreed with above posters, most people still refer to shoes as trainers, cross-trainers, sneakers, or tennis shoes. Unless the team handling the event are experienced runners or analysts you shouldn’t expect too much.
She single handedly ruined that broadcast. The other guys were bad but you could watch without yelling at the TV. But she had no business being there. She was making stupid comments and asking stupid questions.
