Rojo,
Why is it important for you to feel validated about stories like this?
You know you’re destroying your own website, right?
How is it destroying my website? From day 1, I"ve been linking to interesting stories I find on the web.
Long before facebook became famous for making stories go viral and long before the internet became full of websites re-writing the most bizarre story of the day. If I find it interesting, I post it.
What's wrong with that? If you don't want to read about it, click on the running threads.
Ignore the comment. Soon as I see something negative and (underline) purposefully unconstructive I move right on to the next post.
This story should get her a lot of lawyers lining up to sue US Bank for millions. They'll settle for several hundred thousand and she'll turn out better than without being fired.

Sue for what? What law has been broken?
Even ignoring the story about giving the stranger $20, they could probably legally fire her just for leaving during her work day on a personal errand without permission.
It's odd that one business (banking) has rules against helping stranded customers, and another industry (hotels) runs commercials specifically showing a front desk worker going out to help a stranded customer.
Isn't rojo's posting under two names a violation of the new code of conduct?
It's bad PR, but good practice.
Aside from avoidable personal risk here, of which the Bank might have suffered liability, Banks have clear procedures which need to be observed - these are in part designed to tread customers impartially and at arms-length.
I know someone fired from bank.
She had a personal account at the bank she worked at, as did her friend.
One day, she noticed her friend's account was about to overdraft, which would have caused embarrassment, refused payments, and huge fees.
To prevent this, as a favor, she transferred money from her own personal account over to her friend's account.
She was out the door the next day.
