This post is going to be kind of rambling and lifey stuff. In high school I really didn’t train very well (30 mpw for maybe half the year) and wasn’t very good. I ran a 17:40 5k a 2:07 800m I graduated in 2017 my plan was to join the army but I was denied.
I have been working just regular run of the mill night shift warehouse/factory work every since.
I was with my girlfriend throughout high school and now we are married.
I want to A) get an associates degree in advanced manufacturing so I can finally stop being poor. B) Run competitively.
I have been working full time and running about 50 miles a week I ran 17 low for a road 5k and 4:57 in the mile I’m jumping in open races trying to get better and better.
So my question is would it be worth moving nearly 2 hours away to run NJCAA and get a degree or should I just continue working by myself and stay around home and get my degree at the more local community college that doesn’t have a team? I am 21 would be about 22 when I would even be able start would I even be eligible?
