Letsrun is the best site for die hard runners and fans to talk to each other. This forum is a few orders of magnitude better than anything else out there. That's the problem. This is the place to be. Everyone in the running world knows that. So when a runner comes here to check out what's being discussed and then see their own name they are naturally going to click on that thread. It's human nature. We would all do the same. For a young person who is not yet fully comfortable in their own skin it's going to be traumatic to read anything that could be perceived as criticism. Heck, same goes for an older person totally comfortable with themself. Nobody wants to read something about themself that isn't positive.
So once someone feels like they are being traumatized because they can't help but read about themselves they'll stop coming here altogether and that's frustrating for them. It's unfortunate, but being able to speak one's mind is also why everyone wants to come here.
