I had a pair of Aftershokz Air.
After the initial "Holy crap! I can hear the music without anything being in my ear!" shock wore off, I tossed them.
(1) Horrible audio quality.
(2) I don't want to hear Kathy talking about how she got a great deal on her new couch, but now she needs new carpet to pull the room together. I'm wearing headphones to listen to music, not to someone on the treadmill/machine next to me yabber on and on. Might be good for trail running or a race, where ambient sound would come in handy, but horrible for everyday use.
(3) I always felt some weird residual vibrations/throbs where the "speaker" was near both of my ears after taking them off.
(4) The horrible audio quality got exponentially worse whenever I sweat.
I switched to AirPods and don't think I'll ever go to anything else. They are great for everything I do (run, lift, cycle, mow grass, listen to music in my office (iMac), long drives on vacation while my kids watch movies on their iPads and my wife flips through FB/IG, etc.). And they connect to my Apple Watch, so I never have to carry my phone with me on a run or at the gym.
But to each their own!
