I highly doubt it is “your” money doing anything. Anyone who talks like that is almost always poor and contributing almost nothing to society already. Hopefully you never get sick and end up homeless, you are probably one paycheck away.

It's also not charity when you're forced to do it.
What kind of trouble?
Since the entire thread has been about housing...it doesn't take a genius to figure out what kind of trouble he's talking about.

Exactly, he’s a farmer, his family accept government money at the drop of a hat.
Even sold some of their unwanted land to the government at an inflated rate.

Since the whole thread has been about housing, he’s asking a question I’ve already answered.
So if I don’t want to work somebody gotta buy me a house.
And food
And a car
And a phone.
And all the healthcare I want.
And my utilities.
And my clothes.
And my college tuition

No back to remedial class for you.

Weird logic. The right to own a gun isn't having the government give you a gun. It's just the ability to own a gun. Do humans have the right to defend themselves?
I'm all for allowing people to build their own homes in as less of a restrictive manner as possible, but that's a far cry from having the state create and give out housing to people.
Rights don't exist. They're constructs. If enough of the right people agree that there's a right to housing, to defending themselves, to vote, we'll consider those things to be rights. The question is not really if there's a right to any of those things but whether you think having or not having those things is a good idea.
The private sector will fix gubmints failures!!!
I would be okay with giving free houses to the homeless if they agreed to get a vasectomy or get their tubes tied.

Why don't you compel these people to provide for their own basic necessities? Any able bodied man should be able to do some construction.

I’ve no objection to trying to find work for the homeless. It is clear that not all are able “to provide for their own basic necessities “.

Yeah man! Just let them die!
If YOU are afraid they will die and don't want them to then YOU are free to provide housing for them with YOUR labor.
So you would let them die?

Exactly, they do not exist unless you have means to support them.

I'm letting them do whatever they choose to do, including sleep in one of the many available shelters, as long as they aren't violating the rights of others or vandalizing public property.
Farmer was it you daddy or grandpa that dodged the draft during WW2?
Sure housing is a right. That means that nobody can take the right away from you. The right is that you are allowed to buy a house or rent a house. That is what a right is. We have a constitutional right to bear arms but the Government is not obligated to provide the arms.
What ever happened to housing projects?
Nice story, but public housing in the 50's and 60's was going to do just what you seem to advocate. Most of those buildings had to be torn down or there was so much crime, people living in them were at daily risk.
People who are given free assistance do not all of a sudden become productive individuals who then contribute to the well being of all in society.
Sorry, but your ideas didn't work before and won't work now.
