Has anyone ever felt self conscious or embarrassed to work hard or train or run more/harder then everyone else on a team that doesn't take running seriously at all? Most likely high school probably.

You have low self esteem if you feel this way. Stop seeking others' approval and do whatever the F you want to do.
I was embarrassed to join it in the first place. I actually made fun of those guys. By the way, I ran about 70 a week in HS.
It's not an unusual feeling. There will be other situations like it. At some point, though, you have to decide, Screw it, I enjoy this and want to get better, so screw these slackers. I'm going to get fast and these turkeys are going nowhere.
You'll deal with the same thing in school, in college, at work, wherever. The slackers love to have company. Ignore them and get good.
No.
