According to most programs and advice, to build muscle mass at relatively intense exercise you need about 1.5g of protein per kilo, or a good 1g per pound. But I'm assuming this is largely for weight in muscle mass, rather than body fat (not that fat wouldn't affect protein). So should I take intake advice strictly and ignore muscle mass/ body fat, or is cramming a load of protein with low muscle mass and high body fat a foolish idea. Thanks!
How does body fat affect required protein intake?

High protein diets promote a reduction in overall body fat percentage through an increase in lean body mass at the expense of fat mass in participants with similar activity levels.
