I disagree with the OP probably because it was my early to mid teen years. Sure, fashion trends and pop music usually don’t hold up well.
However, Birkenstocks and Doc Martens and high waisted jeans are back in style, if we use college students for a barometer at least.
This time period also gave us Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden. MTV still played some music although it also ushered in the Real World.
Movies were not just CGI remakes of 80s movies. Pulp Fiction and Shawshank Redemption both came from this era.
You could be a complete idiot teen and not have it captured for eternity on Instagram.
There is always plenty to poke fun at with enough time elapsed. I think giant beards, man buns, Kardashians, Dancing with the Stars, watching other people open presents and play video games on YouTube are all ridiculous.
The 90s weren’t any worse than today.
