Background info:
I’m 21, I’m new to distance running but I have always been into sport (football, basketball, tennis etc) and I exercise almost daily.
Just signed up for a half marathon last week that is 9 weeks away from now and I want to run a 1:30(4:15 pace)
For the past week, I have been running everyday (8km 5:00 pace) just to get used to it before starting any program(a random advice I got from YouTube). I attempted a 21km run at the end of last week and finished in 1:49(5:15 pace).
Questions:
Is it possible to cut 20 minutes from my time in 9 weeks at all?
If not, what would be the fastest possible time that is realistic to aim for?
If yes, how should I train for it to maximise my chances?
I have researched many different programs online and there are so many that I don’t know which is good for this situation.
P.S I know what tempo run, interval run, speed work are and I know they are a must to train for this race.
Also I’m pretty sure I cannot run 10k in a 4:15 pace atm.
