You honestly believe that if a race was set up for Sifan last year during Worlds, solely focusing on a fast time trialed and rabbited 5k, she would not have come near 14:0x? Also show me a male that runs 13:40s with a 55x 400m.

This statement shows your limited intelligence on the sport. Lets break this down by math. A 12.0 is a 24.0 200m, a 48.0 400m, a 1:36.0 800m. Let that sink in. Jim Ryun's close in his last 1200 of a 1500 is still the best in history IMO. Matt Centrowitz closing in 50x during a 3:50x 1500m. Nope, 50x and 48.0 are still night and day. Please pardon the slight sarcasm but if Bekele was an athlete that could close in 12.0, he'd be a 48.0 athlete and please tell me what a 48.0 400m 2:01 marathon Bekele would be for the in between distances....I would genuinely like to hear.

Check out a frame by frame of KB's 10000 WR. He closed in under 12.
No he did not. Don't be ridiculous.
It was more like 13-mid. I think people confuse the end of the exchange zone (90m to go) with 100m due to the larger turns and shorter straights on the Brussels track.
Wait...that isn't 100m??? SMH
You guys a freaking hilarious. The guy has run what 60 sub 4's, has run 3.49 for a mile and 3.29 for a metric. I would guess he has also run pretty close to a four minute mile in workouts over the years too.
The fact that anyone would question his opinion on this is just comical - all you "theoretical genius" running dorks who know more about the performance than a guy who has actually performed.
If Nick Willis believes that these are the figures then I'm good with that.
Another thread where distance runners grossly overestimate how fast they are.
First off his 1500m PR is 3:32.4. I do love you're completely shoot off the hip guesses. You sir, are an idiot.
I also have the credentials to stand behind what I say, coaching wise.
Hi Salvatore,
I actually have great respect for Nick Willis. I got to work with him directly by participating in his miling camp (
) and really appreciate how down to earth he is. He truly is a sincere dude who has given back a lot to the running community, is an exceptional athlete, and clearly knows what he is talking about. I simply curious how many ppl on letsrun had checked off his boxes and had or had not run sub 4.
Best,
R.
I think knocking off a sub 12.5 open 100m and a thru LT/tempo 20:00 4mile is a better question. Being in true race form.

Well you are definitely one of the easiest idiots to deal with I've come across in a while. Because when you can't even do your research to identify the guys PR, anything else you have to say is completely null and void.
https://worldathletics.org/athletes/new-zealand/nick-willis-186911A simple google search would have told you that Nick Willis does in fact have a PR of 3.29 - it's 3.29.66 to be precise - that's interestingly 1/100th faster than Steve Cram ever ran in being the first ever man to break 3.30. He's actually run under 3.32.4 (not even sure where you have this number from) multiple times - he's actually even broken 3.30 more than once.
Your coaching credentials? I mean only some know-it-all assistant high school cross country coach from buttf$#k nowhere would make a statement like that knowing full well there is no way in the world we could ever verify your coaching "credentials".
Either way, the fact that you can't even get your facts right in the most simplest of scenarios means you should probably just gracefully exit this discussion right about now.
Byeeeee
Actually please respond - I would love to hear how you managed to not even get Willis's PR's correct and please tell us all your coaching credentials that give you the ability to know more than a 3.29 1500m runner/3.49 miler who has intricate knowledge of his event and his training.
So please, grace us with your excellence.
If 12.5 is the worst a sub 4 miler can do for 100 fly then I must be able to outsprint at least a few of them.
If you can run 4 miles at 5 flat pace and it's not all out, then of course you can race 1 mile pretty close to 4.
Willis was probably as doped as any other sub-3:30 runner.
I was referencing Bekele moron.
I'm also not stating my coaching credentials. If you want to know, you can dig hard enough and find out.
How about you become an actual registered member btw.

I think I do quite well. I also have a successful background running and coaching. First hand with a 1:44 athlete during one point of his career along with other sub 4 athletes. Periodization training (strength/aerobic)/coming off cc, etc. Obviously his 12.5 is an very rough estimation. Everyone is different though. Nick Symmonds, who know is still is overall great physical fitness, just struggled to run a 1:59 and a 55. This is a guy for example who ran ~just under 1:17 at Millrose as well in 2013. Remember what he did at world's that summer? 1:43.55 and almost won the entire thing. You take Nick out of a cross country season and run in him a flat 100m and compare it to when he's in peak track shape, it's night and day. Enough said. I'll love to continue more convo if you care to learn.
If this is correct, then he is currently a perfect match for N.S. over 400 or 800. They should have a rungum showdown on YouTube.
So a 1:45.5/3:29.9 and Nick who is a 1:42.9/3:34 are equal? SMH
Run it in Croks, or something else stupid like that.
Great example on why they say so many so many morons are on letsrun. Sorry brojo's.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year

Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
