It seems like it’s cool these days for runners on instagram, announcing to the world with a sweaty selfie that they ran 8 miles at 8 minute pace every day.

How are you tired of something that you can avoid so easily. Just don't be on Instagram. 100% chance you won't see another Instagram post again.
Yeah, definitely an easily solvable problem. Don't follow them or don't open the pictures in your explore page. Done.
Tired of mindless sheeple followers whose whines are really about lacking the psychological strength to avoid things they dislike. Or possibly about jealous feelings over not being able to crack triple digit followers. If you can't figure out how to block out those things on a simple app then why are you even using it? Just delete your account, nobody will miss it not even you.
I want to know is do they ever run without posting? Or do they only run when they post? It's one of life's great mysteries
OP is jealous.
Then don't follow them.
I'm tired of people complaining about stuff they can control.

Agreed. I'm tired of everyone posting every moment of their life. Attention whores
I’m tired of hobby joggers who can’t break 14 in the 5k acting like they are trainin for the ‘Lympics!
Get off IG and FB. Your life will be so much better.
I've been off for almost two years and will never, EVER go back.
I've read more books over the past 2 years than I had in the previous 5. I attribute that to being off social media. I'm also now fluent in Italian, which I started learning 18 months ago.
I've never used either Facebook nor Instagram, and somehow my heart is still beating.

I think it's funny when people on here brag about not being on social media. LR is 10 times worse.

People definitely waste a lot of time looking at meaningless junk on fb, twitter, insta, etc. I think limiting the use of them allows for enough productivity. EG, just look through the new posts once a day at a set time and if you miss it, just skip them.

Can you explain how LR is "ten times worse" than social media (let's say Instagram, Facebook, Twitter)?
Have you ever seen the ‘un-follow’ button?

Eight miles a day is 56 miles per week. If they do a long run, to, that's easilly over 100k. Very nice.
I am not sure why "15:25 guy" is following all of these slow runners who bother him so much. OP, what do you post on INSTAGRAM that is so monentous?
