Dumbest name in the history of shoes. Takumi-Sen.
Should call it the FlySwatter.
Omori and Mimoura two Japanese master cobblers designed the Takumi Sen's an amazing flat!
Attention Adidas: Please bring this Takumi series over to the states again! You have your athletes like Nick Willis wearing old editions winning the Fifth Ave Mile...The nice thing about Takumi is you could take it to run some Ks on a grass loop or a fast Road Mile something VF could not do

That treat was before the race an inaccurate. Joyciline Jepkosgei and Rhonex Kipruto both wore the Takumi Sen.
From an LRC article earlier this year:
Ever since the Vaporflys hit stores in 2017, Nike’s competitors have been scrambling to catch up, and prior to Sunday’s race, it was announced that eventual NYC champ Joyciline Jepkosgei and runner-up Mary Keitany would be racing in adidas’ answer to the Vaporflys: the Adizero Pro, which features a carbon fiber plate and will be available for purchase in January 2020.
However it turns out that Jepoksgei did not wear the Adizero Pro; she went with an existing adidas shoe, the Adizero Takumi Sen 5.

Halfway through Jan. Waiting patiently for the Adizero Pro.
This is a joke headline right? One dude wins a race and breaks a worlds best and this is your take? Firstly it wasn’t even the “adizero pro” - as many people have pointed out it was the adizero takumi-sen - a non carbon plated shoe.
Secondly the first thing that comes to my mind is this cat just ran 26.24 on the roads in those shoes - what on earth would he have run in the 4%? Based on a very basic estimate of 2% for an elite like RK it could be in the ballpark of 30 seconds. Wow.
Takumi is a 1% shoe. Similar to Adios but a few ounces lighter so it's slighter faster because of weight.
RunningWarehouse sold the Takumi 4 then 5 last year but cleared them out and stopped importing them.
It's possible to get the Sen (and Ren model, slightly different) from exporters
Wiggle in UK (well known/trusted)

and Rakuten via Japan sellers, one example of many:

Wanders also ran faster than his track PR set this past summer. I'm not usually on the course wasn't legit bandwagon but he just smoked the road WR. It's rare but it does happen, the cone being misplaced in that marathon a couple of years back cut off 300m.

Just this morning I got an email from adidas congratulating this guy on his new WR in adidas shoes. Then it says "wear the same adizero shoes by clicking here!" And it takes you to the page with the Adios & Boston, because of course, the Takumi Sen isn't sold here.
So the shoe ran the 10k?
Wow
Seven-league boots, obviously...
Has it been confirmed the Adizero Pro has a carbon plate? Because I remember a video before NYC where someone was bending it significantly.

The adidas adizero pro model has a plate.
Unknown about takumi sen for NYC victory, but probably.
https://www.adidas.com.au/adizero-takumi-sen-5-shoes/B37419.htmlThe new adidas adios 5 is out now as well:
https://www.adidas.com/us/adizero-adios-5-shoes/EE4301.htmlIt looks to be the same as the adizero pro model, but no mention of a plate in the product description. Perhaps they will release a plated version later on.
Would you say that has a carbon plate?

Because the Takumi Sen is in the Adizero family of shoes, dumbarse.
They will be fast, especially from 10k-21.1k, but they do not have the stack height of the vaprofly, so the eccentric load of the marathon distance will be less dampened in the adizero pro.
Probably better in all areas when compared to the adios.

They aren't using the Takumi Sen, it is obviously something with a plate and better foam. If it wasn't something as good as the Vaporfly, he would make a fortune running under 26 minutes in Vaporflys. It will be something made to look like the Takumi Sen just as the original Vaporflys were made to look like the Rio Streak 6s.
Its a Takumi-Sen
It's a 60C compression EVA midsole, a 1G Boost insert in the forefoot (approx 3 inches x 4 inches x 1/4 inch thick) and no carbon plate.
It's that simple Subway sl@pnut, relax.

This thread is hilarious. I like how the brand adidas is spelled and the discussion about the Adizero. Well done. Now let's all smoke more weed.
This thread gives me anxiety.
Is it the Adizero, or adidas?
Or TakumiSen 5 or TakumiSen6?
Was she in the Adizero Pro or TakumiSen?
Keitany lost because she changed shoes.
No way Jepkosgei's shoes were standard TakumiSens
Learn very basics about shoes and how to look at pictures. It's not hard to figure out what people are wearing.
The best is "this is the answer to the Vaporfly" . Which is most likely, BS. How about this: adidas makes new shoes on a regular basis and it has nothing to do with the Vaporfly.
How about this: I could pave a road from coast-to-coast with swing-and-miss racing flats Adidas creates.
They nearly had this 30 years ago with torsion stuff, how they can't figure it out now, with Boost they already have, is astounding.
