I am Doing a 6k trail race on decently groomed gravel trails and want the fastest possible shoe. I know VF not an option on trails. What is the next best bet for this distance on a trail?
Thank you in advance!

Nike Air Zoom Terra Kiger
Has a bit of bounce to it.
If it's truly groomed gravel just use road shoes
Has some rocky parts but well traveled fire road style. What about Pegasus Trail shoes?
use road flats if it isn't going to be very muddy. or xc flats
I like the Pegasus. It's perfect for trails where you think "Trail shoes might be better, but I could've gotten away with road shoes on these trails"

yes or Hoka Torrent. That shoe is surprisingly light and fast.
Thank you!
I really like my Adidas Terrex Agravic Speeds. They are really light and nimble with good grip. I run trail ultras and for what you described I think you would definitely be fine with road shoes also. I run the regular Pegasus not the trail version on stuff like that a lot. I wear Altras for the really long trail stuff.

Yeah. 6k, groomed trail, I'd go the XC route for something fast.
Thank you everybody. I could not find any local stores in LA that carry the xc flats in stock, so I ended up ordering the Floatride Run Fast on Amazon One Day Shipping (not pro). Grip seems good although not a "trail" shoe. 5.6 ounces. Race is tomorrow so nervous about wearing them! I also have backup Hoka Torrents.
