If people are too ignorant to figure out it's probably one troll posting all the "usually negativity", that's their problem, not the rest of us semi intelligent people. We all know this happens in every Sage thread.

So what happens if I use multiple names in a thread? I think it is important to be able to use multiple names because everyone frequently uses them to add flair about what they post. It's become important LRC culture.
Oh I see now, so LRC totally blocks you from using multiple user names in a thread. This is lame and kills the fun of LRC chat.
Just to be clear, the multiple username rule is specific to a single thread and person. So you can use as many usernames as you like across multiple threads, but you can't use more than one in a single thread. This prevents people from astroturfing support for/anger at ideas.
This is "I am Too Old For This" again with a new user name to test bypassing your restrictions. It is lame to take away this important piece of LRC culture.

So it looks like the user name restriction is done by IP address. So what happens if there are multiple users behind the same IP address like at a university or school wifi? Then only one person from that university or school could post on an LRC thread.
Yes, trolls will have a prudent limit on their psychotic tendencies. Will they be able to handle it?
For some reason, the boards only use the left 2/3rds of my screen. I have tried two different browsers (Chrome and Firefox) and it is the same on both. Too much whitespace on the right-hand side. Maybe this is reserved for ads that I am not seeing?
Testing. I like being able to post/reply without leaving the page, that's definitely a huge upgrade. One thing that has already been mentioned: there is a TON of white/gray space on the sides of the page.

Usernames haven't stopped you from endlessly trolling...
I’ll take that as a No, they can’t handle it.
Someone suggested you may have to auto-fill their username after their first post on each thread, so they know who they are. Hilarious!
This system is horribly bigoted against unrepentant schizophrenics, I must say.

Those of you seeing tons of whitespace, are you using an adblocker? On desktop sizes, I reserve that space for ads to avoid post content resizing in jarring ways when the ads load. If you're using an adblocker, it will appear empty.
If you're not using an adblocker, are ads loading in places other than the sidebar?

We considered this. IPs are sometimes shared across segments of wifi and within close proximity in buildings. The same IP isn't usually universal across large organizations, although the number of people under a single IP depends on the local wifi/network setup.
But, yes, if you are in a building with a static IP for many users, you won't be able to anonymously post in the *same thread* as your teammate, coworker, or coach, after they have already posted anonymously. That seems to us like a reasonable trade-off to avoid the negatives of having people posting dozens of times in the same thread to make it look like people agree with them.
We plan to implement a feature to tell people their last used username if they are posting from the same device.
I get it now! Seems about twice as fast to me. I like the redesign. Plenty similar but good QOL improvements. Thanks much

I normally use an adblocker (sorry) when on a desltop, but tried it without and that seems to be the answer. I will offer this, though... there is still way too much space allotted. The ads seem to only use like 15% of the white space, so it looks weird that you have an entire side of the screen unused for a little square ad to take the upper right-hand corner.
Not complaining. Honestly trying to help you out.

No hard feelings. This is what my screen looks like.
https://imgur.com/a/WV68uVdThe ads should be "sticky" on the right side as you scroll. Do they stick for you? If not, what browser? The sticky CSS feature is pretty well-implemented now across most browsers but on older browsers you may get white space as you scroll.
Sometimes one of two ads on the right bar do not get bid on and it will appear empty.
We will be fixing some spacing issues on portrait mode of some tablets in the coming days.

Constructive feedback is better than just "I like it" or "I don't"
I like being able to go on mobile and pick up where I left off.
I just started replying to this post, stopped, and came back and it remembered what I had in there. I like that.
Reporting a post is easier. We could experiment with font sizes and colors. We're open to ideas.
Constructive feedback: it’s hard to see the post that you are replying to on mobile, if you don’t quote the post.

Chrome, and that is pretty much what mine looks like except your Keurig ad on the right is a lot bigger than the last few that popped up for me. Your screen looks a bit less hectic than mine (I get that bottom bar that really bothers me) and it just makes the message board seem like it is framed by a screen that is mostly ads. I never minded the ads until they became dynamic and started redirecting me from the page, hence my migration to AdBlock.
I’m also concerned that those with schizophrenic tendencies may actually STAY SANE if forced to “commit” to a single fake persona!

Thanks. This is what I'm thinking.
1. Give people option of having the reply button bring them to a stand-alone page. Default to the pop-up, but remember people's preference across devices.
2. On small devices, the default behavior will be to go to the stand-alone page.
We genuinely want people to have a better experience. Thanks for the feedback.

So what happens if Galen Rupp and Alberto Salazar are living in the same apartment using the same wifi and Rupp decides to anonymously spill the beans on LRC about Salazar? Wouldn't Salazar be able to easily figure out it is Rupp by trying the anonymous user names out on the same wifi network to see if the LRC server allows the posting? There could be serious privacy concerns with this.
Not used to the new colors. Makes my eyes feel funky. I guess will have to see if I am able to adjust.
Will be interesting to see the results of not being able to use multiple anonymous names in a single thread. Sure there are work arounds, but they aren't practical for the purposes rapid fire replies to oneself.
Too much white space as others have mentioned. It doesn't scale very well either across screens either. The message board probably takes up only 50% of the width of my 24" monitor.
