Thank you! Do you know from experience or is there anywhere online that shows this?
It is what they told an athlete 2 years ago. 35 ACT though so times may need to be a bit faster for average student.
The ivy league coaches are savy and thorough. If you are good enough, they will find you.
Be the best you can be. And answer the phone when the coaches call.

Do you mean savvy? Typical ivy league coach unable to spell and employ proper use ellipses. I guess Princeton or Yale.
Untrue. Coaches rarely waste time recruiting uninterested kids. Even more extreme for Ivies since they have no scholarships. If interested, athlete needs to make contact. All of the track runners that I know who went there, did a bunch of marketing.
I’m a sophomore rn with a unweighted 4.0 GPA. Me being a sophomore, I haven’t taken the standardized tests yet.
Luckily for me, I’m actually very interested in this program, as well as a few others.
did the athlete they told end up choosing Princeton?
Does anyone know how open Princeton is to international athletes? I’m from Canada, and i’m pretty sure I’ve seen a couple Canadians on the roster.
No. Chose P5 state school. Small athletic scholarship and large academic package covered about 80%. Princeton offered no discount. Parents middle class but have large savings.

These might be the times you need to run before they even really give you a look at all. Looking at last year's recruits, they all seem to be significantly better than this. Below are their times going into Princeton. Not sure what they were when they were recruited.
Josh Zelek: 8:27 3k
Jack Stanley: 9:05 3200
Ethan Reese: 1:51 800
Connor Nisbet: 9:00 3200
Duncan Miller: 3:51 1500
Connor Livingston: 9:03
Camren Fischer: 8:55 3200
Sebastian Fisher: 4:11 1600

Wrong, anyone interested should email the coach directly and keep it simple. email them your times, gpa and test scores. They will let you know if you have a chance. You need to be fast enough, smart enough and have a way to pay for it through your own funds, needs-based which all ivy leagues offer or a combo. THERE ARE NO ACADEMIC OR ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIPS IN THEY IVY LEAGUE. Very few runners are able to meet the criteria..fast enough, smart enough, money enough.
if you are fast enough and think you are smart enough, sit down with your parents and do the financial calculator. If after all that you think you can meet the criteria then set up a visit. If they still want you, they will have admissions do a pre-read of your academic qualifications the summer before your senior year. If admissions gives the coach positive feedback you can be admitted then you have a shot at an official visit. Its not easy recruiting athletes in the Ivy League, it's not easy getting in but it's doable IF you meet their criteria. The coaches int he ivies can look at your transcript and scores and have a very good idea if you can be admitted. They won't waste your time or theirs if its a no-go. There are plenty of very good schools not in the ivy league that will be a good fit for you, you just have to find it if you dont end up in the ivy league.
Correct. Imagine the Princeton staff somehow knowing that a 4:15 junior from Nebraska has a 35 ACT and has parents earning $50k and wants nothing more in life than to attend Princeton.
You do not need a 35 ACT. If your times are good (4:15/9:15) you will need a 30+. You MUST reach out to the coaches if you are interested in the Ivy League schools. Your parents either need to be able to afford the tuition or be on the lower end of income spectrum. If your parents make 250k or more you will get very little financial assistance. If your goal is to use your running talents to gain acceptance to the best school possible this is your route. Also Princeton, Harvard, Penn and a few others are competitive nationally in distance. Look at the recruits to Harvard and Princeton over the past few years. These are really good kids and if you compare favorably market yourself to the coaches. They will definitely respond.
You need to be smart (34 or higher on ACT), be fast (415, 910 should do it), and poor (parents make under $80,000). If you are those things, they want you.
