Funny how no Americans mentioned the 4 year ban of American heptathlete Alexandria Gochenour that was revealed by the USADA on Dec 17th, 2019. She was caught with ostarine in her body, an anabolic steroid. Plenty more where this came from. Maybe Americans should clean up their house before railing on Kenya.

Another American Goes Down (Alexandria Gochenour Banned for Doping)

Americans try to catch their cheats. Kenyans try to hide them. Huge difference.
-
It's a heptathlete, not a distance runner. If it's not a distance runner then it does not matter. We're not talking about EPO here.
-
interesting...the woman is a heptathlete (arkansas grad) who is dating decathlete Curtis Beach

Yep. On the hiding thingy, so does GB (the untouchables Sir Mo and Chris Froom come to my mind) -

Doesn't matter, doping is doping. -
Gochenour is clearly a Russian last name.
-
Almost certainly a false positive . She majored in crop science at LSU . Probably accidentally inhaled chemicals from crop dusting . Should be reinstated .

America tried to hide it for 18 months..... but failed . The only person you can trust in America is Jodie Foster

I assume this was part of the appeals process. To me, every month someone lies about doping should have two months tacked onto the ban - and the ban should start when its announced. This would make Gochenour eligible for competition again December 30, 2026. 4 years is too short and isn't doing enough to deter cheaters. -
Only bannable offense should be the double hair bun phase she went through a couple years ago, who cares about the drugs
-
She bit the dust over a year-and-a-half ago. USADA certainly took their own sweet time to decide on a ban.
BTW, ostarine (aka embosarm) is not a steroid; it’s a SARM. -

Isn't Curtis Beach washed up now? Both him and this Alexandria were both ranked as one of the best athletes in their events. World Athletics lists Alexandria as being ranked world 17th best at one point:

I wonder if they shared "supplements"? -

Eh, both are used to artificially build muscle. Same end goal, different means.
For a 4 year ban to be handed down after all this time, she must have not been able to give a convincing excuse. I wonder what she said to explain the Ostarine that is banned everywhere. She would have hired one of the British Athletics lawyers. -
Doping is a fact of life in track and field. As in a lot of other sports. People think they can get away with it and the benefits are too significant.
That said, there are different levels of doping. There is state sponsored industrial doping (East Germany). There is doping with the collaboration of the government. (Russia). Then there is doping where the government is just paying lip service to anti-doping controls while actively protecting their athletes. (Kenya, Great Britain, Spain, Jamaica).
In the US it is more entrepeneurial, with athletes and trainers working with labs such as Balco. Think Marion Jones. But unlike Kenya the government isn't in on it. Still a big problem, but Kenya and the rest can eat sand. -

You really can't see your own face if you think the American government isn't looking the other way and accepting the doping. It's the American don't ask, don't tell policy. How do you explain all the worst dopers have all come from America? -

I think you mean the other way around, bro. Kenya actually catching cheats while America takes ages to ban this token. Not even mentioning Alberto Salazar’s victimless crimes. -
