Are you drunk?
This is perhaps the dumbest interpretation of reality that I have ever seen on LRC.
You can be butthurt, but you're still admitting you're wrong if that's all you've got. Thanks for playing though.
Your constant need to have the last word in every argument proves again and again you are both very insecure and mentally limited. Very angry as well. You've become a laughing stock to LRC.

I agree, for a while there were good shows like you mentioned but lately it's been a bit dry with the exception of "the end of the f***ing world" and "Undercover".
In a lot of these shows the dialogue is throwaway rubbish as is the music, what especially annoys me is the very low quality of science fiction, if I see a lot of pretty faces in the advert I know it's going to be awful.
How can something be "unwatchable"? You cannot unwatch a show.

Why does anybody engage with Bad Wiggins? He’s just a troll and always has been. He doesn’t actually believe the things he writes, because they’re obviously nonsense. He just wants people to think he believes them, because it makes him feel very smart. And he really, really likes to read his own writing, which is why his nonsense is so verbose.
I'm a boomer (tail end). I find this Boomer vs GenX vs GenWhatever vs Millennial thing stupid. Every generation does it - rails against the previous ones and/or the next ones. We're all the same. We all go though the same life changes. We just do it with a different backdrop. The technology we had differs a whole lot from what you have. The cultural norms change. There's no good or bad about it. It just is.
It's right for you to question the norms; to question the wisdom of your parents and elders (for want of a better word). To change how you live your life to fit your needs and desires. And you'll talk down to us, just like we talked down to our elders. One day you'll come to see that it was stupid. If you are smart, you'll also see that it's stupid to bash the generations which come after you. It will be hard. Especially since they will be bashing you.
What you need to realize is that boomers are not responsible for all the bad in the world. We inherited a world just like you are. The world kept changing right in front of our eyes and we kept up the best we could just like you will. We shaped some of our own little corner of it, but had little effect of the broader world. I could go on, but this is letsrun afterall.
Finally, what is boomer TV? Who made The Wire, Sopranos, Breaking Bad, House of Cards, etc? Pretty sure if was Boomers. The shows we grew up on - 70's and 80's TV were made by the previous generation. Boomers might have been actors, but they were not creating the shows (for the most part). Of course, Boomers made plenty of crap TV as well.
Everything you take for granted now as part of your life was created by boomers - the internet, smart phones, high def TV. Of course we built those things on the shoulders of our elders.
Netflix (created by a boomer) ia a business. Unlike TV, it knows exactly what you watch. How many seconds of the show is streaming in your house (or wherever you are). They don't get paid by views, but if they are not getting views then they are not getting users. If they are not getting new users they are not growing. If they are losing as many as they gain, then they are not growing. Netflix is all about growing. To grow, they need to engage - in as many regions and for an many tastes as they can.
If you can't find anything on Netflix, then you are likely not trying hard enough. I find plenty of Scan/Spanish/French Noir to rival (somewhat), those shows you mentioned. In addition, they is plenty of great British crime shows (though maybe more of those on Prime).
That said, while I will not (for the time being) leave netflix, I don't find it perfect. I wish it would learn my tastes better. I wish it would be easier to find new shows and movies. I wish it had more classic movies, etc. So I get Prime, BritBox, Netflix (including DVD), HBO, Showtime (for a while) and (maybe) Disney. Good thing I'm a boomer with lots of disposable income:-*
I agree. Just about everything on Netflix is garbage. I've been contemplating ditching Netflix and getting Disney+. I don't watch a lot of Disney movies, but at least they are higher quality than Netflix third rate movies. I don't watch enough TV to justify both so I need to decide which is better.

Have our tastes gotten worse or have companies doubled down on appealing to the lowest common denominator and just pumping out more and more of whatever safely turns a profit?
some other services like HBO are sometimes a bit better, but overall we are saturated in mindless garbage
Clearly you don’t understand Netflix and chill
Boomers pretty much screwed everything up.
We went from the greatest generation to boomers.
Your generation will be known for Clinton, Bush 2, and Trump. Great job.

Possibly drunk, possibly trying to rationalize his “I deserve everything I want!” attitude that leads him to steal products online, possibly both. We get it, you pirate. You’re so special because you know how to get movies for free. I know a guy who does that, he’s pretty sad and drunk all the time too.
When Netflix was first getting started, the streaming options were awful. I might have a streamed some documentaries and classic films, but that was about it. Never really liked binge watching TV shows. I was big on the mail order DVDs. The choices were better and it was a way to prevent myself from binge watching.
Can't remember what made me cancel my subscription in the end. I think that I got through "Friday Night Lights" and that was pretty much all that I wanted to watch at that point. God, that show was so bad it's good. I love how every character got screwed over at some point.
Bojack Horseman is really good, would highly recommend it based on your preference of the wire, mad men, and sopranos
Apple's new show The Morning Show is in the same league as those shows, as was the first season of Narcos.

LMAO at every poster who still pays to watch anything on the internet. Why? What service is the host performing for you, other than locking stuff behind a paywall? Distributing stuff online costs next to nothing.
I feel the same at movie theaters! I mean how much does it cost to push play on a digital projector? What am I paying for! Lol
No doubt. Every time I sit down ready to watch something I spend all my time looking for anything good on Netflix. Can’t find anything. What they have is not good and I’m really picky. Not a good combo. Netflix is out. I just need to read more.
Because YouTube
