4 pages and not one mention of Flagpole's famous requirements to be a man!?!?

Jamin quotes this a lot in his posts.

Probably because it's not a great quote. It rambles, has poor grammar, and doesn't make sense.

Agreed. Doesn't make sense at all. Plus, repeatedly posting your requirements for masculinity is lame to start with.
Saladbar is the whackest name to come out of Letsrun in history.
Was he relaxed? That's another tired but classic trope.
Don't forget Mo Farah's classic, "That's what champions do."
This also proves why track and field will never get NFL or NBA money. We don't have a Muhammad Ali and we never will.
Keep it on the ‘crete

Whoever first said "discus" instead of "discuss" and the first poster of "Moran" instead of "moron." Those are my historical highlights.
A long time ago I posted a thread entitled "What is your favorite track & field event?" where I wrote one word: Discus. Some people got annoyed thinking I misspelled it. That might be the first occurrence, but I can no longer find the thread.

Listen brother:
Long Island is Eden. Anybody who disparages that place, its inhabitants, their orange skin or gelled hair does not deserve the privilege of living there. You know why rent is so high? Because people need room for their muscles and tanning beds. OK? It's February and my skin looks like burnt macaroni and cheese, is that alright with you?
You go to any of the 5,000 Hofstra bars on Hempstead Turnpike and tell me that the place is not brimming with intellectuals and beauty queens. I dare you to go to Roosevelt Field and pretend you're not amongst the best and brightest this great land has to offer.
LI was paved over in the 1950's to clear the way for souped up Honda Civics. You can find 5,000 miles of concrete trails (aka highways) on our beautiful island. Oh, you like real trails? Head to the state park and dodge 15 year old white kids drinking 40's and smoking trees.
Before you complain about LI, think about those are not as well off as you. Have you ever been to Kabul or Omaha? I bet the entire country of Afghanistan there are only 5 tanning beds. Try to find a guy benching 450 pounds in Omaha. He doesn't exist.
I would gladly pay $800 a month to live in a 21st century Athens.
That's real talk.
A few good ones that haven’t been mentioned:
- “Webb’s BACK, BABY!” (Surely I just missed this earlier in the thread...an all time great)
- “Baby nationals”. I learned the hard way that saying “WAHHH the babies are crying” in real life generally doesn’t go well
- “Discus”

1 2 tree
If I want advice from a 17:00 5K guy, I will read the letsrun.com message boards
I'm not counting each tree per sey, just as they pass by, 1, 3, 4.
Fixed:
"Imagine you're a day after a KILLER workout, and then the day after you run into some familiar faces on a trail. You don't notice each tree per se (2, 4, 5, etc.), but you keep with the group just to be with them. You can see them way ahead of you, and you're struggling to keep up, meanwhile your watch is telling you that you are going like 10 minute mile pace. You try to push the pace in the hopes they'll speed up, but you just can't reach the guy at the back -- he's just too far ahead."
This is the first time I've heard such a quote. Is he a poet or an actor? In general, in our time, most people know quotes only from great people and then not all of them. I said to my niece yesterday, “Sometimes good things fall apart, so better things can fall together." She asked me whose words they were, and I said they were the words by Marilyn Monroe. My niece doesn't know who Marilyn Monroe is! Now we need to give the younger generation books instead of phones. I made my niece read all of Marilyn Monroe's quotes at https://turtlequote.com/2020/08/28/quotes-by-marilyn-monroe/.
Jesus mods! You deleted so many replies from yesterday.
You suck.
