That's the goal. Luckily, I'm starting in my thirties.

Are you 26 years old?
That would be tough!
Both Bekele and Kipchoge are way older than 26, and have ran 2:01 marathons which indicates they can still run 26, if not 25.
Kipchoge is probably at least 40.
However this challenge does look much more difficult to start than to finish. Can a 90 year old run a sub 90? If they can still walk unassisted, probably yes.
Sounds like a fun goal. May you go on to run many very slow 10k’s!
I can run my age-18. When I was 40 I could only run my age -5, but was more competitive in my age group than now. You may have found one thing that gets easier with age.

A 14.5 minute per mile walking pace (for 6.2 miles) does not strike me as that doable for most 90 year olds.
comprehending a 9 minute kilometer pace for a 10k race, instead of laboriously converting the whole thing to miles, doesn't strike me as doable for you.
53, and can run ~45?
A reasonable goal. If I can be under 60 at 60-65 I'll be pleased.
I'm 61 (female) and can run just under 50 for 10K. So right now running my age seems trivially easy, but I don't know for how long that will be true. This is an interesting challenge, though.
38, female, and I wish
There is a somewhat similar challenge of running your age for a 400. It’s about the same- impossible in your twenties and becomes easier until your 80’s then it’s more of a survival shuffle

Laborious if you are mentally challenged I suppose.

Wow!..you're a speedster for your age & gender. What is your running history - elite?, sub-elite?, collegiate?
I tried to do this in my mid 30s and failed (last time I tried was age 38). I'll be 46 in a couple of months, that should be a gimme.
I'm hoping to up the ante on this challenge and run my age for a 10 Miler in a few years. I'm 53 and can run 56-57 minutes, so maybe by the time I hit 60.

amkelley will no doubt say she was never a speedster, but did compete in the Olympic marathon trials, and still runs marathons and trains 70 miles a week. Really amazing.
If by it becomes easier you mean "it has never been done in history by anyone under 50" then yes, this post is a worthwhile contributor to the thread.

What an odd response. Is there a reason you’re so bitter? Are you old and lonely? Suffered a breakup? Going bald?
Life is short Wiggums. Be positive.
Does that mean I'm a speedster too? I'm a 71 year old male, and my best time this year was 46:48!
I'm faster now than when I was 50 :-)

I think the 400m is tougher. My last 10k race was 40:0x on a hilly course at 58, but I couldn't have run a 58. I'm now 62, and a steady aerobic 10k run would be about 46:30-47:00, a harder one, a once a week type effort about 43:30.
There's no way, I could get anywhere near a 62 sec 400m (although I did manage a 32 sec 200m a couple of years ago).
