1. University of Wyoming XC has been performing well past few years and their HS XC teams have been unstoppable in recent years.
2. Affordable living compared to Flagstaff.
3. Relative short drive to 5000 feet for racing at Fort Collins. Or you can drive a bit further to race in the over-saturated Boulder running area.
4. No state income tax.
5. Low property tax.
6. Much lower population/density than Flagstaff (this translates to less annoyances with dodging vehicular traffic biking or running).
7. New 5,500 acre open space park with tons of dirt soft trails scheduled to open in Spring 2020. This park will directly connect to a nearby National forest with a ton of soft running areas up to almost 9000 feet of elevation. It will be accessible from Laramie city limits with minimal driving.
Downside: cold, windy winters but you get this with most higher altitude locations.
