These "clown school" comments are a joke. These are the average ACT/GPA admissions to several D1 schools in the Mountain states. If you're a runner, the U of U isn't an option b/c they chose not to have a track/XC team for men.
BYU = 30 ACT, 3.86 GPA
U of U = 25 ACT, 3.55 GPA
Utah St. = 24 ACT, 3.56 GPA
Colorado = 27 ACT, 3.68 GPA
Northern Arizona = 23 ACT, 3.57 GPA
Boise St. = 23 ACT, 3.45 GPA
Other schools with strong running tradition or top 10 this past year in mens XC:
Notre Dame =34 ACT, 4.0 GPA
Stanford =33 ACT, 3.94 GPA
Michigan = 32 ACT, 3.85 GPA
Wisconsin = 29 ACT, 3.84 GPA
Tulsa = 29 ACT, 3.78 GPA
Indiana = 28 ACT, 3.72 GPA
Arkansas = 26 ACT, 3.72 GPA
Iowa St = 25 ACT, 3.64 GPA
Oregon = 25 ACT, 3.59 GPA
BYU is less than a clown school than most top programs if you're interested in maximizing your running potential and academic experience.
