It's this. Having female qualifiers for the worlds is a fairly recent thing and women's professional darts is not a sport you can get involved in and hope to be a full time player.
So when you've got a small handful of talented female players who are playing full time compared with the many hundreds of full time male players, it's not really a surprise that you don't see many women beating the men.
But I think darts has moved away from the traditional working men's club game in the UK to an actual mainstream sporting option all over Europe and in Asia, so I think we'll start to see a few more shock results and soon some female players getting through Q-School and on to the main tour.
Q-School is rough though, so maybe not this year, even for Fallon. She played well in this match but I doubt it's something she can replicate game after game.
