I also agree that the title of the announcement is deceiving. 8 of the champions are wheelchair athletes. All in favor of wheelchair athletes, but the races themselves are rarely exciting.
The able bodied race isn't that exciting thus far. Des will draw a crowd. Yuki is a nice guy. Either one of them has a snowball's chance in hell of hitting the podium, however. The rematch between Lelisa Desisa and Lawrence Cherono could be interesting. But I don't see much else.
All professional races are about telling a story. That's what draws the attention. But right now, the 2020 Boston story feels empty.
Yes, Desisa v Cherono is the contest. Next week, when AW name their top ten for this year, they will have them at three and five, but opposite to this year’s Boston finish.
