Throughout the summer and XC season, I have had pretty consistent training. I averaged about 40-45 miles over the summer, and 35-40 miles in season XC, while getting down to 30 for end of season races. I'm now in my new block of training for the indoor season and was wondering if running a few times a week in the morning would have a big enough effect to be worth it losing the 30-40 mins of extra sleep in the morning. I feel like I'm not doing enough to improve right now, and want to do as much as I can to have a good final Indoor season. This is what my week currently looks like:
Monday: Easy miles (6-7)
Tuesday: Workout
Wednesday: miles (5-6)
Thursday: Workout
Friday: Moderate run (7-8 miles)
Saturday: Workout
The workouts change, with hill repeats, intervals, track fartleks being just a few. I usually average 4 miles total on these days.
Would having the extra few miles on my easy days be good for me? Is it worth it to add those miles? I'm just looking for more ways to improve.
