One of my favorite races that hasn’t been mentioned yet is the 2015 WC 5k, Caleb Ndiku tried to take it to Mo and the race closed in 1:48. Great tactics by Ndiku, but Mo simply was too good

Boston 2018- the bad weather made the race more interesting, and YUKI WON!
Women’s 5000 at European Championships 2018- Salpeter stopped a lap early thinking she was 2nd, lol
Austin 2019- Heather Lieberg beat drug cheat Mary Akor after, as Derek described it, a “literal battle” with Akor, who was then DQ’d.
And I remember hearing about some marathon that ended in a literal tie. Anyone know which one?
Best men's race of the decade: Solinsky's 10k AR
Best women's race of the decade: 2016 NCAAs (it was the biggest upset of all time and was decided by 1 point with Oregon's #5 outkicking Michigan's #5 by a fraction of a second)
The first races that came to my mind:
My personal #1, the 2016 Cardiff HM. Kam falling at the start, the awful weather, fast times, good competitions.
2013 Great North: three GOATs squaring up
London 800: Duh
Solinsky 26:59 and Shalane's NY win: the most impactful US races of the last decade for me
2015 NCAA Cross Country Championship W, "Here come the Lobos."
Womens 3kSC WC 2015
Sprint finish Jepkemoi vs. Ghribi vs. Krause
Muktar Edris had not won a single track race since the London WC 5000 when he defended his title in Doha, beating impossible odds. That storyline and the Ethiopian 1-2-4 make me surprised that no one mentioned this yet.
Don't know if anyone put this already, I'm not gonna bother looking through 6 pages to see if they did, but the 1500m at USAs in 2011 was a great race. Rising star Centro caps the perfect domestic season with a national crown over a star-studded U.S. field including reigning world bronze medalist Lagat, 3:30 guy Wheating, Torrence, Manzano, and Lomong, among others. A collegian outkicking Lagat like that was a thing of beauty to watch.
My picks to win the whole bracket would be Hassan's DOHA 1500m final, Rudishas 800m WR, bekele vs farah vs haile half, centro winning that 1500m oympic title even though it was slow and almaz ayanas 10k WR
also insert one of Bolt's many titles
In the spirit of the season, xc season that is, hear are some races on the grass that belong on this list.
Men's Races
2016 NCAAS Ches gets upset by Patrick and the beginning of the Lumberjacks dominance.
2019 NCAAS BYU upsetting the Jacks in those conditions was insane.
2017 NXN an insane race and performance from Adian to upset Brodey with a crazy last 200.
2013 World Champs The miracle on dirt was absolutely phenomenal.
Women's races
2018 NCAAS Colorado and Jones bring home the indv and team title in a stellar win over New Mexico
2018 Footlocker an extremely exciting race to watch between Hart and Sydney
2017 NXN Tuohy's stunning first NXN win was really great
I'm sure I missed a few I've only been following running seriously for a little over a year
One race that definitely deserves some consideration is Yohan Blake's 19.26 from the 2011 Brussels DL
One more on the women's side - Jo Pavey's win at the 2014 European Championships was pretty awesome. 40 years old and less than a year removed from giving birth.
2018 NXN was lit

Yes, we should be on the lookout for bias and I see what you are saying but the depth in men's running is greater so the races are more competitive more often.
Good to see you doubling down on this, progress!
There are more men's races than women's races included as candidate races, but it's not 102 to 36. By my count, it's 65 men's races to 37 women's.

So you commented to say it's less but still not equal? C'mon guys. The final bracket is still 43-21 men. That's lopsided to say the least.
How about some NCAA DMRs?
Propensity to post before fulling thinking my thoughts.
There was a somewhat recent women's ncaa 4x4 that played into the team title. Don't recall the year.

The big American performances were very exciting to me. Meb winning Boston is #1, then Solinsky because it was such a shock, then Shalane's NYC. I think if you're not from the US none of those would be that high on the list except maybe Meb's Boston win with it being the year after the bombing.
For Long Distance the 2013 Great North run and Wanjiru vs Kebede at Chicago are by far the best I can think of from an actual race standpoint. On the track, the London 800m was pretty amazing.
