Think how pissed they would have been had it actually showed a fat woman losing weight.

The only lame part of the ad is that she is nervous to ride a stationary bike.
I'm so sick of the SJW culture permeating everything these days. I'm skinny as well, but my cardiovascular health was sh** up until last August. Skinny people can be out of shape.
My god America, what are you doing to yourself!

Fat people: Don't tell us how we should feel about our bodies!
Fat people after watching the ad: This is how she should feel about her body!

Yep. Its a really good treadmill. The controls are good and so is the running experience. If you like the exercise classes and running to a playlist in a virtual class, its good. If you are just an occasional treadmill runner (myself), an Ipad and decent treadmill is good enough.
fwiw the True Alpine Trainer is by far the best treadmill I have ever used.
How does it compare to the Woodway?

lol
Its more likely pelaton would shutdown and brick their bike during the year.
But this s--t is funny.
Am I a wizard? When I saw this ad on TV the first thing I thought was "People are going to have a problem with how slim that lady is."

That was a sore spot and probably helps fuel the criticism.
Though it would have changed the ad’s tone considerably (and conceivably limited their market audience), they should have cut in scenes of her mountain-biking outdoors previously, having fun. Then maybe the critical viewers would see the stationary bike as a thoughtful gift vs. a cold prescription.
Right. Problem with exercise is the reputation that it has be super stressful or hard. No pain no gain right? If you are just working out for general health and fitness which is what Pelotons or any of these companies target audience should be.
I think what the ad is trying to show is a fit person, runs color runs, that sort of thing, lives somewhere with snowfall, and for whatever reason doesn't work out outside in the snow - and/or doesn't like going to the gym.
And possibly doesn't like crowds, or being barked at in real life in a spin class.
So the nice hubby grabs her a Peloton, instead of a trainer for the bike she probably has in the garage (which might have been damaged when the car ran into it and her a few months ago), and she goes to town with the online class-ness of it. And digs whatever changes it provides.
Not rocket science here, rocket scientists. It's just an ad. Which is working.

When I first saw this ad my thought was "She should've cranked the resistance a little higher and got up out of the saddle more. Then she might've had an ass by the end of the year."
But anyway, it's a stupid ad and some people made some good jokes out of it. Anybody who's making a political statement about the jokes need to get a life. Or maybe a Peloton.

I saw an ad for a Norditrack exercise bike using a big girl model...once. Must have been a really lousy feedback to have it pulled so quickly.
they are all just scared individuals wrote:
Its because idiots ascribe anything they dont like to the group they dislike the most. Also, its become a trendy thing among conservatives to just blame 'liberals' for anything they perceive as change from the past. These are people who by definition are terrified of any change, be it in their lives or other peoples lives.
A true American conservative seeks to preserve the freedoms in the Constitution, specifically the individual rights in the Bill of Rights. More individual freedom guarantees unending dynamism and change in a free economy with individual rights. Billions of decisions are made every day by hundreds of millions of free individuals, rather than bureaucrats and politicians.
A true, modern progressive is actually a "reactionary" who seeks to aggregate decision making in the hands of the ruling class, the system that has always existed for thousands of years and continues to exist in most of the world, except in the USA over the last couple centuries.
Progressives seek to make change essentially impossible from the local to the national level.
Have you ever traveled? America isn't the only fat kid in class.
It’s funny how people get outraged by things like this. That said when I’ve saw the ad for
The first time, I hated it because I thought she was such a basic person and that the ad catered to very basic people.
Unless it’s completely unusual circumstances, which I understand happen, why would someone be on a treadmill or stationary bike when they could be outside running, riding, hiking, walking, skiing, paddling etc...

Dark, cold, snow, rain, busy streets, lack of safe paths, bike crashes, lack of instruction, lack of proper gear, need to watch kids, need to be available to answer phone, etc etc etc.
The target market is people that are going to buy it and and actually use it. Monthly fee and all. That is most certainly people that are already fit. Not your typical couch potato.
The problem with social media is it only takes a couple idiots to make it sound like a lot of people are offended. Then you get a whole set of people that are offended that people are offended. What a wonderful age we live in.
