Yeah it's a cheesy ad but so are all holiday ads.
Apparently this sparked outrage because the woman recognized she needed to exercise even though she wasn't fat?

Peanut butter and jealous! Haters gonna hate!
I don't understand why people act like weight loss is the only reason a person could want to exercise. I exercise a lot, and I probably won't lose 4 lbs this year. Do people not realize that exercising can actually make you feel better completely separate from any change in weight?
That said, responses on Twitter aren't news, and this is really a non-story until/unless they can actually show that Peloton's sales are poor because of their ad campaign.
Boycotting exercise all together and for every point my blood pressure rises trump is going to build the wall 1 foot higher.
I'm offended that people are offended by this ad. So what, now only fat people get to lose weight? Stop body shaming the skinny.
The ad's not *that* bad... That link's click-bait headline references a tweet. There's not mention of her "journey" to becoming a person who's 4 lbs lighter. Maybe it's a journey to feeling stronger, better about herself, more confident, better health metrics, or whatever. Yes, it's cheesy and definitely not for me or for most of us here, but nothing to get outraged over. Who cares? Move on to something else, fatties.

Has anyone here tried the Peleton treadmill?

Yep. Its a really good treadmill. The controls are good and so is the running experience. If you like the exercise classes and running to a playlist in a virtual class, its good. If you are just an occasional treadmill runner (myself), an Ipad and decent treadmill is good enough.
Its because idiots ascribe anything they dont like to the group they dislike the most. Also, its become a trendy thing among conservatives to just blame 'liberals' for anything they perceive as change from the past. These are people who by definition are terrified of any change, be it in their lives or other peoples lives.
The new peloton is called the AlSal
The ad is dumb. The backlash is dumber.
Only thing worse are troglodytes who play politics like a team sport. Incredibly low information.
If my wife looked like that, I'd buy her a peloton or whatever expensive equipment, too.
The people who get mad at this are the same people who hate Alberto for having the nerve to tell a runner to lose weight.
Riding a Peloton won't allow you to drop pounds. In fact, you'll be so hungry at 9 a.m. after riding hard for 30 minutes or whatever earlier that you'll devour everything in site.
The only thing that will trim that, uh, trim, is a better diet. Dude should have bought her a "How to Eat Meat" book instead.
She's very skinny already, why would you give her an exercise bike?
The ad is legit terrible.
You must be fun at parties.
So she stays skinny?

fwiw the True Alpine Trainer is by far the best treadmill I have ever used.
